WHAT'S AT STAKE IN IRAQ WITH SCOTT RICKARD

You can't understand what is happening in Iraq if you get all your information from the propaganda in the corporate media. The fact that this is a civil war for national liberation is obscured by the fact that US media is painting it as a terrorist invasion. The truth is that the US and its erstwhile allies in the Gulf monarchies are behind the insurgency. The motivation seems obvious: To take down the Maliki government that is a powerful ally of Iran.

So why is the US reaching out to Iran to keep its ally in power, when Maliki clearly is no friend of the US or his people? That is the main question I will be discussing with Scott Rickard on SFPI Radio Saturday, June 21 at 9 AM PST/12 PM EST.
