In 2012, Congress appended a provision on a routine bill to fund the Department of Defense, the National Defense Authorization Act, which passed on a bipartisan basis. This provision gives the President and any future President the power to designate anyone an enemy combatant, subject to arrest and indefinite detention in military prisons without charge.

Many Americans do not know about NDAA or the story behind it. Of those who do know about the provision, many are unconcerned, believing that the President would not abuse the power and being apparently unconcerned that they have no idea who may inherit it. Some refuse to believe that it is applicable to Americans, but the facts say otherwise.

On June 14, our guest on Taking Back America was Shane Ozbun, State Team Leader of People Against the NDAA (PANDA) of Oregon. We talked about the story behind the NDAA, what it means for democracy in the US, how it relates to corporate control of the US government and how you can help PANDA be a part of Taking Back America for the People.

This show was rebroadcast on June 15 at 9 AM PST/ 12 PM EST on the Star Com Radio network.

Take Back America for the People is an educational nonprofit whose mission is to educate the American public on true costs of corporate control of the US government.

Know the truth and the truth will set us free.
