Activists are overwhelmed with the many threats to peace, the environment, social and economic justice and democracy itself in a world increasingly controlled by a small circle of psychopaths with the power to pay for the election of politicians who control the most powerful government and military in the world.

It is easy to give in to cynicism, despair or even apathy in such circumstances, but we cannot afford to. Global climate change alone sets an upper limit on how long we can wait to save human civilization from self-destruction. We can no longer afford to hope for the spontaneous uprising envisioned by those who were inspired by Occupy.

If we are going to find a way out of the danger we are in we have to start by acknowledging how frighteningly real the danger is. Then we must find a way to overcome our fears and outmoded assumptions and act.

To organize the many disparate groups that are fighting each in their own way for their own causes, we must be bound by a common goal: The end of the ability of corporations to hijack government to serve their interests over those of We the Peoples of the Earth.

On September 15 we talked about the obstacles to organizing a global democratic awakening and how we can overcome them to assure that our children live in a rational, sustainable future where war is but a distant memory.

Our choice is clear: We will create a peaceful democratic revolution or watch the spontaneous rise of a doomed violent revolution when others have given up all hope of nonviolent resistance.

SFPI Radio is the international talk show designed to allow those struggling for social justice around the world to talk to each other about how we can support efforts to promote justice, democracy and peace in every nation.
