Sacral Chakra Healing with Energy Psychologist and Coach Lydia Van Den Broeck

    in Self Help

This month we are shining the Light on the second (Navel) Chakra. What are Power Struggles? How to be aware of them ? how to eliminate them?  How can you more creative and have more fun.
The time has come. 5th Dimensional consciousness refers to the spiritual dimensions that mirror our spiritual growth. Maybe now, more than ever, as we find ourselves living through extreme social upheaval, we want our outer world to reflect the picture of the life we hold inside. Maybe now, more than ever, as we find ourselves living through extreme social upheaval, we want our outer world to reflect the picture of the life we hold inside.
It’s important to know how and why things manifest and why they sometimes do not. Manifesting something is not the inevitable result of following certain steps. Before your desires can take form, it is fundamental to know yourself as “worthy” of receiving. Feeling deserving does not come from an entitled claim of the ego but rather comes from your heart as an expression of your authentic self. You are divinity personified. Can you relax and surrender to the flow and allow life to come to you with grace? Life is much easier and sweeter to navigate as you reach into yourself at a deeper level.
Today's special guest Lydia Van den Broeck, Ph.D., is a transformational healer, teacher, coach, and applied mystic, rooted in every day life. The core of her work is to be Heart to Heart with each person and escort them into their fullest potential. She holds a Ph.D. in Holistic Sciences and Psychotherapy. Lydia has a private practice in the Chicago area and is available in person or by phone. She gives keynotes, teaches groups, and workshops, by invitation, and is available to guide individuals and groups to elevate their consciousness and encourage cooperation.

Anita Moorjani - Sensitive is the New Strong

    in Self Help

International speaker, cancer survivor, and author of Dying to Be Me Anita Moorjani astounded fans across the globe with her New York Times bestselling book about overcoming cancer and her life-changing near-death experience. Now she returns with Sensitive Is the New Strong, a powerful, heartfelt book on harnessing and fostering empathic gifts in today’s difficult, fear-based world. Empaths not only sense other people’s emotions, but also absorb them—sometimes to their own disadvantage, often leading to overwhelming sensory overload and feelings of confusion or low self-esteem. Their willingness to help and please others might make them prey to opportunists or cause them to give away more energy than they can afford. But Anita Moorjani argues that it’s possible to turn this onslaught of emotional burden into a powerful tool. In a time when traits like sensitivity, kindness, and compassion are sorely undervalued, Moorjani helps empaths—whether emerging or acknowledged—navigate obstacles they may face and identify what makes them unique. Finally, she teaches them how to claim their true powers as empaths, to be their most authentic selves, shifting their own trajectory and leading to shift the trajectory of the planet in a more conscientious direction. Filled with eye-opening personal anecdotes, insights from other empaths, meditations, and self-affirming mantras, Sensitive Is the New Strong is an empowering book that demonstrates the positive power of sensitivity.

Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) - 2620

    in Self Help

Tonight's special guest is Jessica Reilly from Glenmoore, Pennsylvania. "I was born in London to American parents who were both adult children of alcoholics", she says. "High WASP and highly dysfunctional upbringing! My father was a pedophile and began abusing me when I was a toddler. The abuse lasted until I was 6 years old - my mother flew back to the USA for her brother's funeral and came back to catch my father in the act of abusing me. He left and my mother pretended everything was OK and refused to address this or any other unpleasant subjects. I learned how to fake everything and wear a mask." She explains, "I learned how to disassociate and compartmentalize at an early age. The abuse started so young I blocked out memories until I was ready to face them and deal with the trauma in middle age. After living in chaos and self-destructive tendencies my entire life, I realized I kept re-traumatizing myself in picking the wrong romantic and business partners." Jessica goes on, "I developed a drinking problem that landed me in evidence-based rehab with the nation's best trauma therapy program. I can't believe I'm the same entire perspective has shifted." As she says, she's growing. "I'm currently working on my first novel - a murder mystery which I hope will bring awareness to this important issue. Pre-COVID, I spoke regularly to local recovery groups and institutions about my journey of recovery and hope." Jessica wants to help others. "It is time to stop the cycle of abuse! We are the lucky ones. We have each other and these forums for support. Our predecessors (and perhaps our own abusers) didn't have that outlet or opportunity. We are too many to be ignored. It is time to speak out and prevent the next generation from the devastating, lifelong effects of child abuse."

Feeling Fridays @ Five - Sexual Assault - Physical and Emotional Expectations

    in Self Help

Linda Vidi interviews Hope G. Miller BSN, RN, SANE-A, CA-CP SANE is a Board Certified Adult/Adolescent and Texas OAG certified Adult/Adolescent & Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) and Lead Forensic Nurse at a hospital based program in Texas. She has been a nurse for twenty-one years and a certified SANE for ten years. HShe provides educational presentations to healthcare providers, ancillary staff, social workers, advocates, and others regarding care of the sexual assault patient, human/sex trafficking, elder abuse, and non-fatal strangulation.
I would like to talk about the medical forensic exam and evidence collection otherwise referred to as the “rape kit”. There is a lot of misperception and misunderstanding in relation to the exam process, its purpose, who routinely provides this type of care and what to expect during an exam. SANE/forensic nurses take a patient-centered,  trauma-informed approach to the exam process where the patient has a choice in what happens and nothing is ever done without their affirmative consent. The patient is an active participant working in collaboration with the SANE helping the patient to feel safe and building trust with the goal of eliciting empowerment to reclaim bodily autonomy and move forward towards healing.
Linda will also talk to Hope about the emotional and long-term psychological  effects of sexual assault. If you are a survivor, know someone who is, or would like to learn more about this topic please join us
