In 2012, the earliest winter since 1896 arrives with the solstice at 6:12 A.M. on December 21 (EST)

Winter Solstice arrives on December 21^st at 6:12 a.m. (EST) &  this coincides with the much anticipated ending of the Mayan calendar.  Is this the dawning of a new age?  There are so many theories and almost too much information about this unique event.
