In the new year, the focus will be on those artists that have been particularly recommended - or those that this host have known and revered for a long time. Lori Williams falls into that category. She doesn't need a recommendation. I've heard and seen her in concert. Each time was a religious experience. Sincerely!

Long considered The Queen of the DMV, Lori took her sweet self and relocated to Atlanta. Which is itself a feat - because those who we have known in D.C., Maryland and Virginia frequently get "stuck" in the wheel of sameness. And glorious talent gets overlooked because they choose to remain in the safety net. Everybody cannot understand this. Lori Williams does.

Her resume is ridiculous. In the BEST way. Performing artist, award-winning educator, songwriter, producer, actress in the theater. More: well-traveled and internationally respected, Lori has received recogntion from admirers who have witnessed greatness - hers - on stage. And made it a point to write to her to let her know that she has affected them mightily. Among those admirers: the new President about to be Inaugurated. Joe Biden has experienced the magic of our guest :)

The reason for this visit on 1/19: Lori's latest project, in partnership with someone who understands the depth of her talent: Bob Baldwin. "A New Book" captures the glow of a woman who is comfortable sharing her vulnerability - and her strength. She is 100% time tested - we who know her can tell you this. The highly respected names who speak hers with hushed tones know this, too. Intimate venues, the largest halls, festivals - for YEARS. It has given Lori Williams this forum - in 2021 - to reveal ALL of who she is. She will always be a Jazz vocalist. But the past few years have given her new wings. When you see the comments at www.lorijazz.com, you will note the pure praise re: those wings.

Please join a Goddess and me on 1/19. One Eastern.
