Six years ago, I woke up one morning in horrible pain. All my muscles and all my joints hurt. My doctor didn't know what it was. My doctor only wanted to throw pills at my symptoms, but she didn't understand the symptoms themselves, and told me they were all in my head. And she never "heard" beyond my first symptom. I was so frustrated with the health care that I was getting, and I hurt so much. I had to find a better way. I didn't want a life of pain and pills.
So I embarked on my own journey to find wellness. When I started, I didn’t even know what I was looking for. I was stunned to find toxins in every aspect of my life that were poisoning me. I discovered the Functional Medicine community. I was tested for food sensitivities.
This book shares everything that I learned to reverse my inflammation and put my autoimmune diseases at bay. This is the get well manual that I wish had been available when I got sick. First step was identifying that toxins that were a significant cause of my leaky gut, then I identified what the toxins were and finally I share in my book what I replaced them with. I address the toxins in our food, in our cosmetics, our cleaning supplies, our kitchen utensils, our water, our over the counter drugs, and even in our heads, stress, anxiety, lack of sleep, lack of movement and finally toxic relationships. I want to help others find a path to wellness.
