Ferrell, who has written hit songs for Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Martina McBride, has been enormously complimentary of this young woman’s talent and potential. She has been interviewed twice for Marshall University’s “Up Late Show,” as well as “Up Close and Acoustic” with Charlie Silvestri on Pottstown, PA radio. As a former University of South Carolina alum and baseball player, he spent five years after college in the minor leagues, playing gigs anywhere he could find a stage and the time.   If there is a “correct way” to come to Nashville, Young is textbook. He has established himself as a student of the craft of songwriting, securing coveted co-writes with Zac Brown Band, Lee Brice, Dave Gibson, Steven Williams and Stephen Allen Davis. He earned the respect of Nashville because of his pointed, damn-near-perfect lyrics.   Young’s first single “Could You Love Me Again” hit radio in February of 2013, and his army of fans have been buzzing about it for months. His YouTube channel has over a million views, the video for “Could You Love Me Again” went viral, garnering 100,000 views in its first week. Young’s next single “I Carry It With Me” is a duo with fellow Carolina crooner and long time friend Lee Brice, and is set to release in early next year. This year, Young is releasing his follow-up EP, "Feels Damn Good," and is touring the southeast/midwest. The first single release on the EP is "Baby Wussup," a feel-good summer song featuring Bubba Sparxx that was released April 1, 2014. That first night, they wrote “My Beloved” in two hours. And after a few more writing sessions, it was clear to both, that these songs merited a bold decision. From the first time they played together, along with Beth’s husband/collaborator, Aaron Fishburn, the chemistry has been powerful. The combination of Beth’s delicate, pure, and melodious voice and Bradford’s soulful, growling tone makes for a beautifully heart wrenching harmonious blend. Their dramatic crescendos, minimalist intensity, through intricate harmonies have elicited comparisons to The Civil Wars, the Swell Season, and Robert Plant and Alison Krauss’ Raising Sand. He grew up on the edge of a main road, railroad track, and a corn field. It's a place where he learned to hunt, fish, play sports, and appreciate  music  of  many genres. It's where he learned about honesty, family, friendship, and team work. All of which  come into play in the songs he writes, in his live show and on a daily basis. If he's not out playing or writing country songs, he's in the woods with a bow, on a lake fishing bass, cruising dirt roads in his truck with his buddies, or out  listening to area classic country bands. Influenced by the vinyl record sounds from his father's collection of country greats such as Haggard, Strait, and Cash...Greg found that a strong song and a strong vocal is key to a good career. He was later influenced by the  sounds and   live shows of more modern day artists like Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn,  Tim McGraw, etc.  and also the 90's country scene. He has worked hard over the years to develop his skills as a country performer and songwriter. He has been fortunate to have played in the company of many talented MN musicians, and  opening shows for talented National acts such as  Jamey Johnson, Little Texas, Emerson Drive, Colt Ford, and Trent Willmon. 00:40:00Rockin Country RadionoGreg Michaels,Bluejean Backroad Dreamin',Turn It Up,New Country,Rockin' CountryGrowing up in small town MN was the basis for Greg's love of country music.  Eden Valley, a farm community of about 800 people and no stop lights, is where heCountry Roots & Blues Singer: Jiggley Joneshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/rockincountryradio/2014/09/03/country-roots-blues-singer-jiggley-jonesCountry Musichttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/rockincountryradio/2014/09/03/country-roots-blues-singer-jiggley-jones/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/rockincountryradio/2014/09/03/country-roots-blues-singer-jiggley-jonesWed, 03 Sep 2014 23:30:00 GMTCountry Roots & Blues Singer: Jiggley JonesJiggley Jones, the project, came about in late 2007. After winning various music competitions, including receiving a “Golden Ticket” to Hollywood on American Idol and being one of the youngest to perform on the West Virginia Country Music Hall of Fame stage, Autumn realized her true potential as a musician. Two years ago, Autumn was found on YouTube and was asked to be the lead talent in Lifetime’s reality series, Chasing Nashville.   Since the show’s end, Autumn has been writing and performing her own songs across the region. Although she is the kin of Country great, Loretta Lynn, Autumn’s extremely broad vocal range and profound personal lyrics cement the struggles and successes she’s encountered in her personal life. Essentially, her vulnerability extends to relatability, setting her apart from other Country artists. Autumn's lyrics cultivate a message to empower others not to let circumstances dictate their life. This is exemplified in powerful songs like,“No Place Like Home” and “Hear Me Now,” which are regular requests on the radio in the region. 00:41:00Rockin Country RadionoAutumn Blair,Chasing Nashville,Lifetime,No Place Like Home,Hear Me NowEighteen year-old West Virginia native, Autumn Blair started her music career at the age of eight. A North Carolina native, the 6’7” singer/songwriter began his journey in music when he was 13. The son of a US Marine Corps Colonel and a Navy nurse, while stationed in Quantico, VA, Bryan was tapped by his middle school music teacher to play the upright bass in the school band for his already impressive height of 6’1” in the 7th grade. Although Bryan enjoyed playing the bass, the lure of the front man aspect and realizing he could sing lead him to pick up the guitar. After some impromptu performances at keg parties at his house in college at ECU, Bryan ended up on the Carolina sands of Oak Island, NC. It was there that he started crafting his style and gutting it out in any bar, restaurant or party that would hire him. Being a southern man from NC, Bryan identified with the bonfires, days on the river, and the simple life that Country is. It wasn’t long after that show that Country radio powerhouse 95.1 WRNS took notice of Mayer’s talent and began to use him as a frequent opener at concerts for National Country headliners like Trace Adkins, Joe Nichols, Craig Morgan, Eli Young Band, The Band Perry, Thompson Square, and dozens more including Southern Rock Gods, Lynyrd Skynyrd. Years before, Bryan had already performed with Marshall Tucker and Blackfoot.  He has just been named 2014 Best Male Country Vocalist by the Carolina Music Awards. At every level and in often unexpected ways, his truths are expressed in melody, lyrics, hooks and sounds … but his reality goes even deeper than that. Bryant’s heritage is defined by music. His upbringing, his craft, his inspiration and his obsessions are all centered in the same – which is good – because there’s no other way to explain how a 21-year-old Texan could already be a top-flight guitar player, head-turning songwriter, RED BOW recording artist and co-producer of his debut album. Bryant focuses his muse on the commonalities people share. “We all have a destination,” he says. “We all have dreams we want to follow. I’m no different than anybody else, I just sing about it. It’s my job to put the party on and give people a good reason to have fun.” And that he does, whether it’s in the soaring groove of “Summertime Saturday High,” the sparkling “Fire,” unabashed romanticism of “Change Your Name” or the vocally-charged, guitar-shredding debut single “Take It On Back.” 00:35:00Rockin Country RadionoChase Bryant,Take It On Back,New Country,Hot Country,Country NewcomerMusic defines Chase Bryant. Playing in bars and clubs as a solo singer and with a touring band – has given him his fair share of stories and insights – great for writing songs. On days off however, he prefers to spend his time out of the bar – in the gym, on his motorcycle, practicing yoga or at home in his apartment “cooking up something scrumptious.” But when it comes to cooking up a tune, Marshall admits there is one source of soul-nourishment that keeps on giving. She didn't make the cut. But the next year, she went back to the same audition, and got the part. She hasn't stopped performing since. When she looks back at it, she's glad she didn't make the cut the first time, because that is when she learned the valuable lessons of hard work and persistence. From an early age, she realized that she is not afraid of failing, she is only afraid of never trying. With this mindset, she put her life in a U-Haul and left her hometown of Roswell, GA to pursue Musical Theatre in NYC. She rolled into Times Square at 4am and thought, "What in the world did I get myself into?" But, of course, she couldn't trade that experience for anything. While there, she got to train with Broadway's best, travel the country with leading roles, and become both a better performer and a stronger person.  After one of her shows, she felt that God was leading her in a new direction. So, she grabbed her red cowboy boots and headed to Nashville, TN, where she knew all of 3 people. Through many divine interventions, she found herself spending her days on Music Row and getting the opportunity to collaborate with great musicians and songwriters.  She realized that her goal for theater and songwriting are one in the same: to make people feel something. It's not that she left theater behind, it's that theater has enhanced her new journey of being an artist. It was exciting to go through all the songs, and see what stirred something in me. I had a couple of songs in mind, and ended up sitting down with a writer named David Norris, who brings a lot of substance to lyrics – he’s a deep thinker. We sat down and hit it off from the start. I told him that I wanted to write something that showed that I appreciate where I came from – not a man hating kind of song that was going at the time. No, this is where the real hurtin’ starts, and Sweeney’s showing no mercy … least of all to herself.    On Provoked—produced by Luke Wooten—Sweeney’s singing it all from first-hand experience, and she’s not always singing from the perspective of an innocent victim, either. The album embodies the same mix of toughness and vulnerability that appealed to so many fans of Sweeney’s first two albums, but with an added level of tested-by-fire resilience that deepens the music’s emotional resonance. The songs range from the heart-on-sleeve honesty of “My Bed,” “Uninvited” and “Sunday Dress” to the raucous barroom rave-ups of “You Don’t Know Your Husband” and “Everybody Else Can,” and follow Sweeney’s turbulent and unabashedly personal roller coaster ride from reckless abandon (“Bad Girl Phase”; co-written by Brandy Clark) to yearning (“Find Me”) to candid self-reflection (“Second Guessing”) to the bittersweet defeat (“Carolina on the Line”) to, finally, the healing embrace of happiness (“Used Cars”). 00:28:00Rockin Country RadionoSunny Sweeney,Bad Girl Phase,Provoked, country artists, new countryTrue to her Texas honky-tonk roots, Sunny Sweeney has never been a singer of what you’d call “soft” country songs — the kind you might turn to for easy comfortCountry Female Newcomer: Brooke McBridehttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/rockincountryradio/2014/07/17/country-female-newcomer-brooke-mcbrideCountry Musichttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/rockincountryradio/2014/07/17/country-female-newcomer-brooke-mcbride/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/rockincountryradio/2014/07/17/country-female-newcomer-brooke-mcbrideThu, 17 Jul 2014 23:30:00 GMTCountry Female Newcomer: Brooke McBrideBrooke is a twenty-one year old, 2013 Carolina Music Award nominee and 4-time Charlotte Music Award nominee.Brooke has written or co-written nearly 150 songs. Like many artists, Blaire knew if he was going to make a career in Country music, he had to move to Nashville. At only 19, he made that move, determined to find his way in Music City and make a name for himself. Blaire met some writers and made a connection with an singer/songwriter named Johnny T. His musical influences are George Strait, Don Williams and Jim Reeves – you can hear that in his voice. He’s a genuine cowboy – you can see that in his confident demeanor.  Through a professional music consultant, Stacy was introduced to industry icon, Josh Leo (Alabama, Reba McEntire, Restless Heart, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Martina McBride, Kathy Mattea and LeAnn Rimes), and convinced him to produce his record. Leo, the industry proclaimed "Renaissance Man" recently celebrated another #1 song with Love and Theft’s "Angel Eyes" – the 23rd #1 song that Leo has touched in his 30-plus-year-music career as a songwriter, producer and musician. Through a mutual friend Stacy reached out to Los Angeles based director, Dave West. Stacy was looking for a story or concept for a video for the song, "Til Your Boots are Dirty" and had seen two of West's short films ("Puddlejumper" & "The Do Over"). West came up with the idea of taking a ‘city boy’ to the country and over the course of the song he gets his ‘boots dirty’ and transforms into a ‘country boy.’ West and Burk polished the idea and then brainstormed on how to find a way to have the song and specifically the video to pop through an incredibly crowded landscape. They understood that going "viral" is not something you can really plan, but prepping yourself to be able to maximize social media is.   Through his multiple seasons working as a producer on Dancing with the Stars, West befriended Maksim Chmerkovskiy. One call to Maks explaining the story was all he needed to come onboard.  00:42:00Rockin Country RadionoStacy Burk,Country artist,Til Your Boots Are Dirty,Maksim Chmerkovsky,Dancing With the StarsStacy Burk is a country music artist from Van Alstyne, Texas. The Haley & Alexis Band sound comes from unique elements brought to the table by each member. Haley tends to pattern her style and sound in the elegance of her influences Shania Twain, Reba, and Faith Hill, while Alexis admits, “I’ve always been more attracted to artists like Miranda Lambert, Brantley Gilbert, and others who have an edgier tone to their music, bridging the gap between country and rock”. These, combined with the diverse musical background of the rhythm section, have made for a refreshing take on what is considered modern country. Always dedicated to their fans, Haley & Alexis Band plan to continually expand their tour dates to reach beyond their Southeast market and become a more viable national act. Haley emphasizes, “Our motto has always been ‘Go Big or Go Home’, in that you either go all-in for what you believe in, or don’t do it at all”. The affirmation has thus far proven successful, as the band has enjoyed an ever growing fan-base, opening for such notable national acts as Mark Chesnutt, Dustin Lynch, and Love & Theft to name a few. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Amanda Daughtry. Originally hailing from Johnston County, North Carolina, Amanda has spent the past few years solidifying her status as a must-see performer in all areas of the state that built her into the woman she is today. Her roots can be seen through the lens of her family musical influence, which can be traced back to her grandmother, who led the 1st soprano section of the church choir. Eventually, once she was old enough to drive, Amanda was able to go off and sing as a part of many theatre and country variety shows in the area. Eventually, she put together a full band of her own and spent a number of years booking and managing the outfit herself as they traveled. Amanda has built a solid reputation of performing a vast array of current and classic country music, classic rock, and mainstream pop alongside songs of her own that she shares with those who are willing to listen. Any given night, there's not a chance that someone walks out of the show without having a great time.
