The two teams we saw in the NBA Finals made big moves, not from outside of their roster last season, but from within. Golden State is looking to keep its core together because, well, they won the NBA title. They did just that with Draymond Green. For Cleveland, Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson and Iman Shumpert will now all be back next season. Outside of the title contenders, many solid players reached new contracts with new teams. Each of these new deals that players are reportedly signing can't officially take place until July 9, but like every other year, agreements are made before then. Max contracts are being offered to players, but the public should know what exactly a "max contract" is worth for a player. Not every player can sign the same "max" deal, so paying the max amount for one given player can end up being a bargain, while for another, may not be the smartest contract a team can offer. In Miami, Pat Riley has no problem paying his better players, as Goran Dragic is set to make another $90 million over the next five seasons. Other max contracts such as Portland's Damian Lillard, San Antonio's Kawhi Leonard and Chicago's Jimmy Butler have also all been offered and are assumed to be accepted by July 9.
