The Rising Apple Report returns for its 127th episode! Along with Rich Sparago hosting and Mike Lecolant joining, the crew also welcomes Faith and Fear in Flushing's Greg Prince! Greg has a new book out titled, "Amazin' Again: How the 2015 New York Mets Brought the Magic Back to Queens," and we can't wait to discuss it with him!
Along with book chatter, we will unfortunately remember the life of the late, great Shannon Forde, a beloved member of the Mets Media Relations who passed away last week from breast cancer. We will discuss what she meant to the Mets organization, her family, and in some cases, what she meant to us personally.
There's baseball brewin' as games have gotten underway...The starting pitchers, pushed back a week after riding deep into the postseason, have started their spring game routine. There's really one battle in camp, and that is the final two spots available in the bullpen. Ruben Tejada seems redundant, and Jhonny Peralta of the Cardinals will be on the DL for 2-3 months...is it time to trade Tejada? Should Kevin Plawecki start the season in AAA LV to continue his development? All that and more will be discussed regarding Spring Training!
And as always, we'll discuss the players to wear number 27 in Mets history, as well as the New York National League legacy of the 1927 season.
So, join us at 9pm ET for the latest edition of the Rising Apple Report!
