Our first author conversation is with Linda Covella. Linda's varied job experience and education (associate degrees in art, business and mechanical drafting & design, a BS degree in Manufacturing Management) have led her down many paths and enriched her life experiences. But one thing she never strayed from is her love of writing. A writer for over 30 years, her first official publication was a restaurant review column in a local newspaper, and as a freelance writer, she continued to publish numerous articles in a variety of publications. But when she published articles for children's magazines ("Games and Toys in Ancient Rome" and "Traveling the Tokaido in 17th Century Japan," in Learning Through History magazine, and "Barry's Very Grown Up Day" in Zootles magazine), she realized she'd found her niche: writing for children. She wants to share with kids and teens her love of books: the worlds they open, the things they teach, the feelings they express. Yakimali's Gift, a historical novel for young adults published by Astraea Press, and middle grade paranormal The Castle Blues Quake published by Beau Coup Publishing are her first novels. She's a member of Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).  No matter what new paths she may travel down, she sees her writing as a lifelong joy and commitment. 00:44:00Reverie RadionoFamily, books, reading, author, childrenHost Lori Hays is very excited to bring you Reverie Radio's Read with the Family month. Then she got introduced to V.C. Andrews, Barbara Taylor Bradford, Anne Rice and many more notable contemporary authors as well as some of the classics, Jane Eyre, Their Eyes Were Watching God, Age of Innocence and others. It was during her teenage years that she dabbled in writing. It would take almost two decades, a radical move from the city she grew up in, Miami, FL back to her Caribbean birthplace, and a chance Facebook meeting with Sable Hunter to start the juices flowing again. After some fits and starts, the Baxter Family Saga was born followed by the historical fiction book Eyubea Girls and now her new release Tobey Fine, book 1 in the Sacked and Tackled series. She considers herself just a storyteller that sees no reason to shy away from the juicier romantic elements. She currently lives in the mountains of Jamaica with her crazy, cracker-munching-mutt Ivy and a farm, primarily managed by agribusiness partner, also known as Dad. #FavePalessa on Amazon: http://amzn.to/1qJtBLj  #PlusPalessa on Google+ : http://bit.ly/YN44GY #LikePalessa - http://on.fb.me/1edEviD #TweetPalessa - http://bit.ly/Obyu1p Blog - http://wp.me/4gZiV Tsu: http://bit.ly/15sQDzu Read the first chapter of Palessa's Baxter Backstory BROKEN MIND: http://bit.ly/1E3Zcih 00:48:00Reverie RadionoPalessa,Reading,Books,Author,Beau Coup LLCPalessa started reading her first romance novel, at the age of 11. In school, he took all the art and English courses he could. He loved creative writing assignments, making him extremely popular among both the jocks and the slackers. In his teens, he began trying his hand at writing for fun, pumping out numerous examples of what not to do. Ranging from nerdy sci-fi in his teens, to historical action/adventure in the last couple of years, he only recently began thinking that some of it might actually be good enough for somebody else to read. He began researching for Profile by creating a fake Facebook profile himself, to cultivate friendships under a false identity while also maintaining his real one. His success can partially be measured by a few suspicious scares and embarrassments, some of which found their way into the story. Haydn Grey lives in Denver, Colorado where he can often be found hunched over his computer, pouring his lifeblood into his next opus.  00:50:00Reverie RadionoFacebook,Relationships.,Online Chats,Private Messages,ProfileJoin Lori Hays for a conversation with Author Haydn Grey about series of books, The Facebook Trilogy.  Haydn Grey has been following a creative muse, in variouBennet Pomerantz Returns to Reverie Radiohttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/reverieradio/2015/01/13/bennet-pomerantz-returns-to-reverie-radioWritinghttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/reverieradio/2015/01/13/bennet-pomerantz-returns-to-reverie-radio/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/reverieradio/2015/01/13/bennet-pomerantz-returns-to-reverie-radioTue, 13 Jan 2015 02:30:00 GMTBennet Pomerantz Returns to Reverie RadioLori Hays is very excited to welcome back Bennet Pomerantz for another exciting conversation. When she is not busy exploring interesting new realities, or arguing with characters (aka writing), she likes to dabble in drawing. In 1999 she graduated from the Norwich School of Art and Design, where she focused mostly on creative writing. There are many genres that Chantal likes to explore in her writing. Currently Sci-fi Steampunk is one of her favourites, but her 'go to' genre will always be horror. "It helps being scared of everything; that gives me plenty of inspiration," she says.  Chantal likes to write for all ages, and storytelling is the element of writing that she enjoys most. In public school and through most of university, I did everything I could to avoid writing. I opted instead for subjects like math; that way, I minimized the dangers of not only being wrong but of being judged harshly for having been wrong.  "But my Muse had other plans, as I write about in Acts of Surrender: A Writer's Memoir. Starting in high school when I was pushed into doing the publicity for two musical theater productions, I was slowly, subtly and unconsciously transformed into the writer I never thought I wanted to be. Within a decade, I was freelancing full-time as a self-taught writer and editor.  "What I have discovered over the years is that The Call To Write is one I can't ignore, which is why I titled my second book The Voice of the Muse: Answering the Call to Write. I can't not write any more than I can't not breathe. "Today, when I'm not working on my own creative projects, I'm helping to guide others -- writers and non-writers alike -- on theirs. As a teen, her family always accused her of having an “overactive imagination.” Now, she’s encouraged to keep her head in the clouds and share her world with readers. Keyes is the author of the YA Fantasy series, The Star Child, which currently includes The Star Child, After Faerie, The Fallen Stars, and The Star Catcher, all from by Inkspell Publishing. The Fallen Stars was a 2013 semi-finalist in the Kindle Book Awards. The Star Child has topped the Amazon best-seller list several times since its 2012 release. Steph writes YA novels because she’s a hopeless romantic who lives to believe that Magick truly does exist. She is hard at work on a new YA novel.   00:58:00Reverie RadionoStephanie Keyes,The Star Child,Book Release,The Last Protector,BooksHost Lori Hays is very excited to welcome Stephanie Keyes on Reverie Radio to celebrate the her newest release on one of Lori's favorite seires.  Stephanie KeyAuthor Brian W. This girl loves nature and all animals. She has many pets and is always adding new additions. The more the merrier in her mind. Sitting under the shade reading a book, letting the world around her pass by, while she is safe in her bubble of imagination. Well that is where she'd love to stay. She is a softball player, can be talked into the occasional Karaoke and loves going out to dance. She is a first generation Canadian living in Ontario. He launched the Ministry of Zombies in 2009 to raise awareness of the zombie threat and has published The Official Zombie Handbook UK and War against the Walking Dead. He is banned from most government buildings now and some people think he’s weird. His daytime job is with the Ministry of Alien Defence where he is on the longest induction known to the civil service.
