Reign of Troy Radio returns with the 207th episode, which delves deep into USC's 2012 football season to explain what went wrong and how the Trojans can avoid a similar fate in 2017.

On this episode:

  • Michael and Alicia walk through the wacky timeline of events in 2012, from the pursuit of Silas Redd, to the fallout of Lane Kiffin's struggles with Votegate, Jerseygate and Deflategate, all while leading the Trojans to a 6-7 record.
  • Next, the RoT Crew looks at the surface level reasons for USC's demise, including the loss of Matt Kalil at left tackle and historic struggles on defense. Were the widely mentioned reasons really a cause of the season's failures?
  • After researching and re-addressing the fallout of the 2012 season with hindsight, Michael and Alicia offer newfound reasons for why the team collapsed.
  • Lastly, the episode ends with a look towards 2017 and whether USC is vulnerable for another faceplact following a heap of preseason expectations.

RoT Radio will return later this week with a Q&A episode, featuring your questions. If you'd like to be heard, call into the Reign of Troy Rant/Rave Line at 213-373-1872, or email the show at reignoftroy@fansided.com.
