This segment features Dr. Carl A. Grant, Hoefs-Bascom Professor of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Grant served as the first President of NAME, and first Editor of the NAME Journal. His outstanding achievements in Multicultural Education research is honored by NAME through the Carl A. Grant Research Award given each year at the conference. Dr. Grant has at least 51 book publications. Many of them address student achievement, curriculum development, teaching strategies, and parent-teacher engagement. (University of Wisconsin-Madison, 1982) is Professor Emerita in the College of Professional Studies at California State University Monterey Bay, where she was a founding faculty member. She is the current President of the National Association for Multicultural Education (NAME). She is past Vice President of Division K (Teaching and Teacher Education) of the American Education Research Association (AERA). Her research focuses on anti-racist multicultural education and multicultural teacher education, and currently she is developing a new area, critical family history. This segment features Dr. Christine Clark, Professor of Curriculum and Instruction, Senior Scholar for Multicultural Education, and Founding Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Dr. Clark is a past executive board member of NAME. Her research focuses on: white antiracist identity development in teacher preparation; dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline; and, multicultural curriculum transformation. Clark was a Fulbright Senior Scholar in México and Guatemala through which she conducted research with graduate students on the theme "Violencia en Espacios Escolares" (Violence in Schools). Dr. Clark is on the Editorial Board for the NAME's journal, Multicultural Perspectives, the Associate Editor for the Higher Education section of Multicultural Education, and on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Diversity Management, the Journal of Praxis in Multicultural Education, and a regular reviewer for the Journal of Diversity in Higher Education and the Journal of Educational Philosophy and Theory. Dr. Clark is also an active member of the American Educational Research Association (AERA).
