Getting to Know Executive Editor of Romance Latoya C. Smith

Latoya C. Smith, formerly an editor at Grand Central Publishing, is the current Executive Editor of Romance at Samhain.  Latoya will be overseeing the publication of the erotic romance line.

In addition, Samhain will launch two new lines under Smith’s direction including an African American line of romances showcasing voices of color as well as a romance line with love stories told by and for the LGBT community.

Latoya Smith worked for Kensington Publishing and was most recently Associate Editor at Grand Central Publishing. She has acquired a variety of titles from hardcover fiction and non-fiction, to digital romance and erotica titles and has worked with NYT bestselling authors Carl Weber, Mary B. Morrison and Mimi Jean Pamfiloff to name a few. She was also the acquiring editor of Cecilia Tan’s award-winning Slow Seduction series. Smith was awarded the 2012 RWA Golden Apple for Editor of the Year and has been featured in Publishers Weekly, USA Today and C-Span2.
