Young LGBTQ people are finding themselves on the street with nowhere to go, and usually through no fault of their own.  Today we talk to an advocate and activist who is taking on the challenge head on by finding young people homes in her own community.

Our special guest is Valerie Arno, Case Manager/LGBTQ Home Host Recruiter of the Bill Wilson Center in Santa Cruz County, California. Homeless youth usuually end up homeless through no fault of their own. Common causes can include aging out of the fostercare system, rejection due to gender identity/sexual orientation and more. These youth are often forced to sleep in the woods, on sidewalks, and in vehicles.

We will be discussing these and other LGBTQ homelessness issues, and the Bill Wilson Center's initiative to relieve it.
