It's been another massive week in Australian politics as the government successfully passed national security legislation that extends further powers to the nation's law enforcement and intelligence agencies; without judicial oversight.

Plus there's been the escalation in the rhetoric around terrorism as the nation's terrorism threat level was increased to high. But this is on top of the faux debate on whether the nation is technically at war; the Prime Minister refuses to use the term when discussing the deployment of troops and war planes to Iraq.
