If the word "psychedelic" makes you think of Woodstock, the 1960's, and people dropping out of society--you are behind the times. While still prohibited by law, some once-considered "bad boys" of the drug culture (LSD, Psilocybin MDMA) are now being seriously studied by science and found to be not only completely non-addictive, but more effective in the relief of anxiety, addiction, and depression than any known or traditional treatment.
Having studied the variety of ways to alter and change consciousness for decades, today's special guest Sparrow Hart will be discussing both the incredible promise of psychedelics as well as potential pitfalls for their misuse in an addictive and distraction-seeking culture.
Sparrow Hart has been talking about “medicine” for decades. His personal journey includes the twelve steps; a long apprenticeship in the Toltec and Castaneda tradition; dream exploration, psychodrama, inner child work, and a wide range of shamanic practices. He has offered workshops on Medicine Wheel teachings, traveled to the Amazon to explore medicine plants, and taught about medicine names, songs, and encounters with medicine animals.
The quests and workshops Sparrow offers reflect his personal journey and what he holds important. His mission (and joy) is sharing them with others. They “join earth and sky” through affirming and addressing what’s universal, archetypal, transcendent, and eternal; while applying these techniques and wisdom teachings to the distress, difficulties, and dilemmas of our personal histories and the lives we’re living now.
He is the author of several books including, Letters to the River: A Guide to a Dream Worth Living
