the author of the spiritual women's novel, Downward Dog, Upward Fog, which I am excited to report was a Foreword Reviews small press book of the year finalist last year. The novel is a light, fun novel about a woman named Lorna that many of us (myself included) can relate to--she's someone who is working, with varying degrees of success, to actually live the spiritual teachings she adores. I got the idea for the novel when I heard another author on TV say that she wrote her book when she asked herself, "Where are the novels for women like me?" So many of us adore an array of spiritual teachings--for me, that means the teachings of Eckhart Tolle, Neale Donald Walsch, Abraham-Hicks, Hinduism and many others--but find it a challenge to bring our practice off the meditation cushion or yoga mat and into our everyday lives, which in Lorna's case includes biting coworkers, a workaholic boyfriend and a crazy mother. I also write about health and spirituality for many national publications, including Huffington Post, Good Housekeeping, The Oprah magazine, US News & World Report, More magazine and many others.
