Shoshanna Katzman began her study of Tai Chi, Qigong and Kung Fu in the panhandle of Golden Gate Park in 1974. Her main teachers in Chinese exercise include Bing Gong, Larry Johnson and Fong Ha. She has been a teacher of these disciplines since 1976 for her own schools in both California and New Jersey; as well as an instructor at the Five Branches Institute and Chabot College, both in California plus Brookdale College in New Jersey.
Shoshanna began her study of Chinese medicine in 1981 for which she holds national and state licenses in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine with a Master of Science in the field from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture. Her teachers in Chinese medicine include Michael Tierra, Mirium Lee, Subhuti Dharmananda, Mark Seem, and Ted Kaptchuk.
Katzman’s expertise in helping her patients and students reach ultimate levels of health and wellness through Chinese medicine has been enhanced through a Master’s Degree in Sports Medicine in 1981 from San Francisco State University. She then broadened her scope of practice through enrollment in The Christine Schenk School for Applied Energy-Body Medicine© 14 years ago and became a Master’s Student Graduate in 2007.
Katzman has been Director of the Red Bank Acupuncture and Wellness Center in Shrewsbury, New Jersey since 1988. She is current chairperson of the New Jersey State Acupuncture Examining Board and the National Qigong Association Advisory Council, for which she was the first woman president.
