Helen B. Williams is a former 2008 Democratic candidate for Mayor of Miami-Dade County. She will share what it was like to be an African-American retired schoolteacher who, with just $4000 and "word of mouth campaigining", was able to capture 35% of the vote in an election against an incumbent Cuban-American opponent who had a campaign budget of $1,000,000 in a predominantly Cuban-American county.
