The Amish community generally fascinates the modern world, particulary here in the West. Our latest rollout of technological advancement, AI with all of its superior proficiencies, inherent flaws, and dire prophecies of ridding the earth of humanity, this group of people is a defiant symbol of standing in the face of an interconnected, fast-paced world.

For many readers, particularly Christian readers, Amish fiction is a huge hit, and has become synonmous (erroneous in my opinion, but that's neither here nor there) as the vanguard of Christian fiction. Amish romances flood Christian fiction topseller lists. In some of the big market bookstores, when you go to the tiny, two-by-two religious fiction section, you'll see non-fictional devotional books and then a slew Amish romance books.

What exactly is it to be Amish? Are the portrayals of Amish life and society in the fictional books, real? Is the lifestyle peaceful, and simple, luring the modern citizen and what is it that attracts us?

Join me for an insightful discussion as I chat with a formerly Amish woman and blogger, Anna Schrock about what it's really like to be Amish on Tuesday, May 23rd, at 7 pm Eastern time. Listen in at 646-668-8485.
