Addictive Reef Keeping - Sam Scalz

Sam Scalz (Sam Garcia Jr.) spent 25 years working in the aquarium and exotic pet industry. He has co-owned or worked at numerous retail shops, managed a wholesale fish business, was a product development specialist for several manufacturers, has been a consultant to many businesses, has collected and researched animals and plants in the wild, and has been an aquarium installation and maintenance professional and a public aquarist. His broad involvement with the reptile and fish hobby has allowed him to keep, observe and breed numerous species over that time.

Sam has always been involved working closely with nature at a high level but his primary passion is as an artist. He creates wildlife and nature art used for illustrations or to be displayed and sold as fine art in galleries and shows. He is well known as an artist for many fish and nature organizations and his work has been collected in over a dozen countries. He maintains a keen eye for detail and scientific accuracy, adding enough abstract creativity to every piece he creates to make each work of art unique. His images have been used for logos, apparel and advertisements and several have been featured in scientific journals,  magazines and books.
