There are no short cuts to obtaining more of what's worth having; there are only detours. In his second epistle to the church at Corinth, the Apostle Paul writes, "The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully" (2 Corinthians 9:6). There is a direct correlation between giving and receiving. It is the inalienable law of the Kingdom of God. The laws of God cannot be circumvented; they can only be conformed to. "Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap" (Galatians 6:7). Complying with this spiritual principle that governs the material realm of your life is more than just merely a question of money, whether giving it or receiving it. It is an over-arching principle that literally affects every realm and sphere of your life. The quality of your life as well as the quantity of your life will be determined by your overall compliance to this principal law of the Kingdom of God. The length of your life and the quality of those years hinge on your mastery of the Law of Reciprocity: sowing and reaping, giving and getting. You will only get as good as you give. So then, it is profoundly important that we probe this great principle and put into practice this law that governs what our lives ultimately will amount to and for how long. When you find yourself in a ditch, whether it is financial or otherwise, it is wise to put down your shovel and stop digging. If today you find yourself in the pit of lack in any area of your life, will you put down your shovel long enough to hear how to find your way out? Good, let's begin... 00:31:00PERSPECTIVE MATTERS---noChristianity,Spirituality,Bible Study,Biblical Truth,Faith & FinancesThe fruit of Kingdom Living comes directly from the seeds of Kingdom Giving! Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light." ~ Matthew 11:28-30 Today, I invite you to join God on the right side of His perspective concerning the matters of your life that matters most to you and to God. The matter that I want to call your attention to in this teaching is the matter of time. There is no more precious commodity that any of us have than time. What makes it so particularly precious is that none of us knows for certain just how much time we ultimately have. You can count your money, your cars, your houses, your clothes and shoes. You can even count your friends, your family and your children. But time? The Bible describes our lives as little more than a vapor that is here today and gone tomorrow. None of us should waste a single moment of the precious time that we are given. Yet that is what most of us wake up to another day to do each and every work day of our lives: waste more time. What a shame, if your work is a waste of time, talent and God-potential. Consider the amount of time you spend at work, preparing for work, commuting to and from work. The preponderance of the days of your life are likely to be engaged in work of some kind. I want to encourage you today to make it the right kind of work; the work that God has sovereignly assigned for you to do. What's amazing is that if we aren't careful, you'll waste your entire adult life working in the wrong assignment to afford all the wrong things. But to our delight, God has an app for that! The new life He's calling you into calls you out of your labor and into His rest. Let's explore an alternative lifestyle that awaits you right now! 00:30:00PERSPECTIVE MATTERS---noChristianity,Spirituality,Bible Study,Biblical Truth,Kingdom LivingYour quality of life hinges on your ability to discern the difference between work and labor... That biblically discernable difference will result in either a life of freedom or enslavement, of prosperity or adversity, of accomplishment or frustration, of contentment or discontentment. In our last segment, "The Secret To More! - Part 3: Know The Difference Between Work & Labor!," we looked at labor from God's perspective, which is decidedly different than ours. Jesus said in Rev. 2:2, "I know thy works, and thy labor..." The Word of God delineates a decided difference between work and labor by definition. And as a result, we come to the conclusion that labor isn't really work at all but is the byproduct of the wrath of God hoisted upon sinful man; a punishment for the sin we were once found in as a consequence of the fall of man in the Garden of Eden detailed in Genesis chapter 3. But when we come into right relationship with God once again through Jesus Christ, our identity changes. We are no longer viewed as unrepentant sinners in the eyes of our righteous and holy God, but now we are "the righteousness of God" according to 2 Cor. 5:21, and "a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation" according to 1 Pet. 2:9. As a result of our blood-bought righteousness through the redemptive work of Christ on the cross, you have something else to do other than to labor the rest of your life. Instead, you have meaningful work to accomplish; not your work but God's work. And that work brings along with it the reward of God's rest and all the "more" - the "more abundant life" - that comes with it. 00:46:00PERSPECTIVE MATTERS---noChristianity,Spirituality,Faith & Finances,Kingdom Living,Work & CareerAn essential part of the redemption Christ paid His life to give you is most often overlooked to your own peril. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light." ~ Matthew 11:28-30 God's perspective of work, like everything else, is monumentally different than ours... The problem with our perspective concerning matters pertaining to our lives and our quest for something other than ordinary living or merely existing, is that so precious little of our perspective - our view of ourselves, the world we live in and are called as followers of Christ to live above, and our view of the God who created both us and the world we live in - even remotely resembles God's perspective on the very same matters. And wouldn't you agree that His perspective matters most of all? This is particularly true of the matters that concern us the most and serves as the most prevalent of our many distraction to following Christ and enjoying the benefits of kingdom living while we are yet traversing the kingdoms of this world. And where and on what do we on average spend the vast majority of our time and our attention, rather than to "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness" in order that the promise of material needs be met and multiplied,  or at the very least be added to, be fulfilled? Well, work. But what we engage in in the plurality of our days, in our so-called work week, isn't really work at all... It's labor. Today, I want to examine the difference between work and labor from God's perspective, so that you know exactly which activity you're really engaged in, for better or for worse. That way, you will be both emboldened and empowered to change for a change... a positive change leading to the newness of life and vitality that a life following Christ has promised.     00:31:00PERSPECTIVE MATTERS---noChristianity,Spirituality,Faith,Bible Study,Biblical TruthOne of the greatest tragedies in life is to be successful in the wrong assignment... Given the magnitude of the time you spend at work, preparing for work, and commutting to and from work each day, your work may be the very thing keeping you from what God has called you to do and to be, as well as receiving the reward that's contingent upon your obedience. Call me crazy, but you may need to work at removing your work as a barrier to your blessings. The reward of faith and obedience is rest - rest from your TOIL, your LABOR. Now, don't get it twisted, you were built and marvelously engineered to work... To work on behalf of God and the building of His kingdom on the earth, not your work on behalf of yourself to the end of building your own kingdom. Only what you do for the Lord will last! In Matthew 6:33, Jesus tells us matter of factly to "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." In today's segment, let's begin to explore what really works... "It is He that gives the power to get wealth" (Deu. 8:18). God has a perspective where things - the wealth of this world - is concerned. And so do we. Unfortunately, our perspective tends to run counter and contrary to the perspective of God where things matter. And because we operate out of agreement with our covenant relationship with God on matters of things, we tend to have trouble with things where trouble was never intended in the first place. Brokenness is the place where our primary needs collide with our lack. We have three primary needs that are common to all mankind regardless of color, culture, ethnicity or nationality. I call them the Three C's of Primal Need: Connection - the primary need for relationship, fellowship and acceptance.Currency - the primary need for worth, value, significance and esteem.Competence - the primary need to be great at something, for worthiness, excellence and virtue. It is from the prism of our brokenness from which our perspective of things are seen, perceived and thought. It is from a cracked and fractured lens with which we view wealth. But when we allow Christ to fully come in to preeminently reign and rule over us - and our things - wholeness is made out of our brokenness. Our lens is restored and our perspective once broken is healed by the blood of Jesus. From the view of a new prism, a restored looking glass, we can see clearly what is available to us right now in the riches of His glory. Here is where we can truly begin... to begin in the fullness of Christ, having nothing missing, nothing broken, nothing lacking. Now, let us begin again... 00:31:00PERSPECTIVE MATTERS---noChristianity,Spirituality,Faith,Bible Study,Biblical TruthThe Secret To More begins with the preeminence of Christ... And you can't set your natural mind on the supernatural things of God and receive them.... Your natural mind seeks to make sense of everything it is set on. Faith and the things received by faith - the things that are above, the things promised by the kingdom and made available and accessible to you by faith - can only be fathomed by the mind of Christ activated within you. Your natural mind, like every other aspect of your old, unregenerated former self, was crucified with Christ. The new creature that was risen with Christ arose with a brand new mind - the mind of Christ. And that new regenerated, renewed mind gives you the capacity for living in the fullness of Christ's higher thoughts and His higher ways, all while you are yet still living on this lowly earth in bodies comprised of dust and water. To lose your mind for the kingdom is not to misplace it... It means to deliberately destroy, to kill, to crucify your mind. In fact, your natural mind, along with all of its tendencies toward sin, was crucified with Christ. When Christ went to the cross, He bore on His flesh-torn back all of the troubles, the cares, the anxieties, the fears, the grief, the sorrows, the depression, and the confusion that your natural mind tends to carry. And when He was risen on that great Resurrection Sunday Morning, He left behind in the tomb what He bore on the cross for all of our sakes - and in particular, for the sakes of our minds. On those blood-stained grave garments were left the stains of people's troubled minds stemming from the precipice of time to the door-step of eternity. There is no good reason for you to keep allowing your crucified mind to keep you from living a risen - above & beyond - life. Leave what's dead where it belongs...
