Kelly became a burn survivor at the age of two. This near death experienced has provided her with a greater purpose for her life. She is an accomplished author and speaker who has traveled internationally to share her story, impact others, and changes lives. She knew that her scars weren’t going away. She knew that her self-esteem and beauty had to come from her heart and soul not from the faulty magic.

In today's world, it's so easy to quit and not even try to see it as an opportunity to change directions and move forward, people find it easier to just give up and say they it didn't work. Kelly was given options in her personal and business life and she wanted to quit a million times, but she never would have become the success she is today.

Kelly has a very unique viewpoint on risks as a burn survivor, just leaving the house every day was a huge risk. Would she be teased, or picked on or ridiculed in some way? How would she face the risks and rise above them and become a confident child and woman? Let’s face it in today’s society there is high pressure for girls and women to look a certain way and to feel bad about themselves as they compare themselves to models in magazines and impossible ideals. Kelly knows this one very intimately as a burn survivor. Kelly has had to redefine her definition of beauty. Kelly faced one of her biggest fears, walking the runway and competing in a beauty pageant. All her life she avoided the spotlight, but this time she faced it head on. Kelly nominated herself for the every woman, fashion has no borders model search competition for two reasons; one to challenge herself and to prove to the world that inner beauty is what counts.
