Shinning Service Worldwide

Shining Service Worldwide (SSW) is a charitable organization that supports the women who are an integral part of the veteran community. Our goal is their successful re-integration to civilian life. Too often women in the veteran community fall through the cracks and don’t get the attention they deserve, or more importantly, they need. We want to help provide those resources. Our focus is on jobs, health, finances and transitional housing. Our work is based on the principle that if you empower a woman and give her the proper tools, she will be equipped for a successful reintegration back into civilian life.

SSW mission is an organization that supports women in the veteran community. Too often our females in service fall through the cracks and don’t get the attention they deserve, or more importantly, they need. We want to help provide the resources they need. At SSW we have a threefold program:

• United Veterans Beacon House, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to provide transitional housing women veterans and their children in New York City. The home helps women veterans keep their families together safely as they work toward successful re-integration to the community. Women veterans with children face special challenges at the local and national levels.
• The Power of Ten Life Skills Program is a three-month mentoring online program designed to help women veterans find jobs, improve their health, and hone their financial skills. Their education is supplemented with extensive network of referral partners.
• Shining Service Makeovers are beauty makeovers are featured in first class salons and spas all over the country. They are designed to show our country's appreciation for all the women connected to life in the military.
