Dr. Diana Swancutt is a professor of religion and history, a cultural commentator, and a human rights activist. Her current work focuses on domestic poverty elimination, economics, and civil rights.Her work includes research on emergent Christianity under the Roman Empire and the impact of imperialism, ethnic identity, enslavement, and economic relations on early Christian identity formation, especially in the Jesus Movement and Pauline communities. As a cultural commentator and human rights activist, she is interested in the power and use of the Bible in the present, in religious communities, in politics, and in the wider culture.

Dr. Swancutt is a graduate of Duke Divinity School (M. Div.), Duke University Graduate Program of Religion (Ph.D. NT and Christian Origins), has taught at at Yale University School of Divinity, at Boston University and is currently the President and Executive Director of The Poverty Consortium, Inc.

The Poverty Consortium, is a nationwide network of scholars of religion, religious leaders, and activists working collaboratively to eliminate poverty and related civil inequities, in their multiple dimensions, domestically. Consortium members do top-flight research on poverty and economics in relation to religion, producing knowledge that will effect poverty alleviation and equity. 

Rev. Sadler is also joined by Joel Segal, Jay Nighwolf and Dr. Robbie Akhere.
