An innovative program in Long Beach, CA provides certified therapy dogs to public schools and libararies so that children can read to their new friends. The award-winning program has had a dramatic impact on the reading skills of the youngsters according to Josie Gavieres who has traiend six service dogs from pupies and workks with the chikdren, some of whom hav emediacal  and emotional issues.
