David Bruhn
AUTHOR of: Wooden Ships and Iron Men
Military Author Radio, with co-hosts Patriot Media Author Dr. Tom Gauthier, and Dari Bradley CEO of Patriot Media, Incorporated, continue support of the Military Author Industrial Complex.
When we hear Wooden Ships and Iron Men we think of the 1840’s and the sleek Clipper Ships that put the U.S. Navy on the map. But the three volumes of Wooden Ships and Iron Men in the series written by our guest, Commander David D. Bruhn, U.S. Navy (Ret) and published by Heritage Books provide us a glimpse into a world well beyond 1840—the world of the Navy Minesweeper. Bruhn has provided a detailed, concise history of the ships that operate with little publicity, but are key to the safety of all war fighters nearby.
Welcome to Military Author Radio, David Bruhn!
David Bruhn served twenty-four years in the Navy as both enlisted and commissioned. His sea duty includes destroyer Leftwich (DD984), fast frigates Miller (FF1091) and Thach (FFG43), and minesweeper Excel (MSO 439). Bruhn was commanding officer of the mine counter-measures ships Gladiator (MCM 11) and Dextrous (MCM 13).
