The Internet Of Everything is an opportunity for positive change. Cities and communities stand to benefit the most from connecting people, process, data, and things. Working with Cisco, partnering with technology leaders and global and local innovators, cities are developing IoE related projects, platforms and solutions to address real challenges.
Transportation and Traffic Congestion are some of the major issues facing city planners today, as communities become more urbanized. Private vehicle parking is a significant factor; an IPARK study in 2012 states, “Thirty percent of all traffic congestion in urban areas is caused by drivers looking for a parking space”, (Zhao, et al., 2012). Public Transport strategies must evolve to better address the needs of citizens, especially those who today choose private vehicles; consequently, city parking is an immediate major focus area for cities and towns.
