Laurel Ann Bogen is a poet, performance artist, and teacher.  She has participated in the Los Angeles poetry scene for more than 40 years.

She has known people to appear, flame out, and disappear, and she has known people to enter, work hard, and leave.  She continues.

She was the Literary Curator for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and she is the writer in residence at the UCLA Extension Writer's Program.

Her work has been published in over 100 magazines, and in several anthologies.  She has won over a dozen awards.  She is now online, "I went down with a fight, I must say."

She has been a hero to Melissa Alvarado almost since Melissa became involved with poetry.
