Wild Fur is two songwriters re-imagining their process. Wylie Hunter (The Cazadores) and Nick Jaeger (The Tomahawks, Roman Candle, Schooner)had both fronted bands that leaned toward 70’s AM radio glow. After passing demos of new material back and forth the two decided to collaborate. Currently the band is sharing their dreamy new single, "Can You See Me," which is from their upcoming release, Feel Free, out November 4th.
Aiming to challenge their previously held ideals of production and songwriting, songs were built track by track, using both modern and traditional elements. The resulting LP is unique and unbound by genre or tradition, which you will find above for review purposes.
In 2013-2014 they released a 4 song EP, a split 7”, and hit the road with Brad Porter (Some Army) and Casey Toll (Mount Moriah). In their first year the band shared the stage with Gringo Star, The War on Drugs at Hopscotch Music Festival, opened as direct support for Cold War Kids at Raleigh’s Red Hat Amphitheater, toured much of the east coast, recorded a session for Daytrotter and sold out several venues in their home state of North Carolina.
