Roger Mooking is a chef, musician, and television host of "Everyday Exotic," on the Cooking Channel, of which he is also co-creator. He also appears on "Heat Seekers," with Chef Aaron Sanchez, on Food Network. He has appeared as a culinary expert and guest on shows such as NBC's "Today Show," "Good Morning America," "The Wendy Williams Show," "Iron Chef," "Top Chef Canada," and many others.
Roger's love of cooking stems from growin up in a diverse culinary family, where food was always a topic of conversation. As a third-generation restaurateur, his grandfather owned and operated restaurants, and his father, aunts, and uncles followed suit. Mooking wasn't too far behind, attending George Brown Culinary Management Program, and then opening and running award-winning restaurants throughout Toronto. "At three years old, my aunt asked me what I wanted to be, and I said 'a chef.' I just knew that was something I was compelled to do," he has said.
In the fall of 2011, Roger released his first cookbook, based on his series, "Everyday Exotic."  It is a collection of the most popular recipes from the show. The cookbook has earned the Best First Book Award for Canada in the annual Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.
Roger is also an accomplished musician, formerly a member of a Juno Award-winning group, "Bass is Base." He has a popular CD released, "Soul Food," and is working on a new album for 2012 release. For Roger, the love of both food and music is seamless. "One feeds the body; the other feeds the soul."
