Yorick van Wageningen is a Dutch actor. After acting in several Dutch plays, movies, and television series, van Wageningen was asked to come to Hollywood to appear in Steven Spielberg's "Minority Report." Due to problems with his visa, he was unable to work on that movie in the United States. However, he has been acting in American movies ever since. His breakthrough hit was with his role in "The Chronicles of Riddick," which earned him much praise by lead actor Vin Diesel. He has starred opposite Amanda Burton, Vin Diesel, Angelina Jolie, (in "Beyond Borders") Judi Dench, Colin Farrell, (in "The New World"),Christian Bale, Christopher Plummer and Clive Owen. In the recent Emilio Estevez movie, "The Way," he won audiences over (including me!) with his portrayal of "Joost," an affable but tortured traveler on the pilgramage of the Camino de Santiago, taken by Martin Sheen's character Tom, to honor his son's death. (Personal note: Do not miss this movie. Look for it. In my opinion, it is the best movie of this year.) Yorick will be seen in the much-anticipated "Girl With The Dragon Tattoo," scheduled for release December 21st. He promised me "You won't love me anymore," (I disagree.) and in the upcoming "47 Ronin," with Keanu Reeves.
