Recently the Legislature passed, and Gov. Phil Murphy signed into law, P.L. 2018, c5, commonly referred to as the “Pass the Trash” law. This law affects all school districts, charter schools and private schools in regard to the hiring process. What steps should districts take when they are hiring a staff member?
