David Schofield has been the team photographer for the Lakewood BlueClaws and Trenton Thunder since their inception. He is also on the staff of Baseball America and annually provides the Yankees, Rex Sox and Phillies with Minor League photos. Dave has been a photographer for over 40 years. He started his professional sports photography career with the Buffalo Sabres of the NHL in 1970. Since then he has concentrated on college sports and professional baseball, currently working with the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Yankees.

Can you imagine going to work at a baseball stadium and taking photos of baseball players? Might this be the ultimate dream job? Since I’m a baseball fan and photographer myself, I’m very excited to have the opportunity to speak with Dave about his experiences in the ballpark. For years I’ve admired the photos in Sports Illustrated and newspapers and wondered how they got those shots. Whether I’m at Yankee Stadium or enjoying the BlueClaws, I always have an envious eye on the photographers. Is it the camera, the lens, or having the photographer’s eye to compose the shot? I have some thoughts on this, but look forward to hearing what Dave has to say. Please tune in and after the show, check our blog, After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live, for additional information.
