Nenna Joiner is a small business owner, author, ographer, and community advocate. Six years of owning Feelmore Adult Gallery in Downtown Oakland, protest central, has challenged Nenna to become a community advocate and small business champion. In 2016, Nenna ran a successful campaign to become a Democratic National Convention (DNC) Delegate and currently serve as an Alternate Delegate in Assembly District 18. With much community work, Nenna has gained two mayoral appointments to City of Oakland boards. Prior to opening Feelmore, Nenna began Directing and Producing that has screened in four countries and won two Feminist Awards (FPA) for Hella Brown: real sex in the city and Tight Places: a drop of color. With mentions in over 60 articles and recently has been interviewed for Curve Magazine’s article Sex in the Time of Trump. Nenna’s first book was published in 2015 Never Let the Odds Stop You. Nenna has been named to Curve Magzine’s 2017 Top 100 Power Issue and most recently they have been awarded Feelmore with the 2017 Small Business Owner Leader Award from East Bay Stonewall Democratic Club."
