Just as in the real world, the microcosm of the book publishing industry comes with its share of empty promises, unrealistic expectations, misinterpretations, and confusion that can cost a new self-published book authors thousands of dollars with little or no return on their investment. Like with any industry, the self-publishing support industry (a subset of the publishing industry at large), has its strengths and weaknesses. How can a unseasoned self-published book author protect their interest while striving to establish their brand in order to increase book genre market share toward maximizing their book sale profit potential.
