In recognition of Women's History Month, Nella-Joi Nation speaks to one of the first officers of the National Association of Black Military Women (NABMW). The NABMW are women of color who are veterans or current members of the United States Armed Forces,and has chapters throughout the country.  Retired Colonel Delores Hampton, served as the first president of NABMW and helped to grow the chapter into a one of the largest in the organization. A veteran with more than 25 years of stellar service in various facets of the military. As a result of her leadership in the military and in the organization, the NABMW have named a scholarship after her, which will be given at their upcoming bi-ennial conference in August.
