Tonight’s show is called, “Separating Art from the Artist.”

While at first glance, this seems to be more of an ethics question than one of psychology, we will be looking at the psychological aspects of why this is an important principle for many people, while others seemingly feel it is not even important. No matter on whichever side of the question one may fall, the topic provokes a great deal of passion and vehemence of stance.

We will examine this concept through the lens of psychology, and a bit from ethics and sociological considerations. Our purpose is not to make one side of the stance or the other the finally determined “correct” one, but to explore the factors that go into choosing, and why this choice is so strong for many people. What is psychologically and emotionally at stake in the decision.

We'll start off the evening with some topic-relevant Classic Rock played by Dr. Mathis, followed by Classic Rock trivia, in "The Rock & Roll Shrink Recalls," followed by our topic discussion.
