Q & A call-in discussion with a survivor-professional, using an OPEN MIKE forum. We'll feature a survivor-professional co-host who'll field topics brought to the episode by you, the listener. ~~ Tonight's special guest is Hilda Thomasine Wren from Frederick, Maryland, a strong voice on behalf of adult survivors of child abuse and a member of the clergy. She worked at Maryland hospitals with rape victims and is a chaplin who works with hospitals and hospice. She is healed now after staying on her healing journey for many years. She is the author of the book 'A Plain Brown Wren'. Her autobiography is about growing up in a household of terror from alcoholics, drug addictions and a aunt who began prostituting her at age 12. She was sexually, verbally, emotionally and physically abused by many adults. Hilda relays that her childhood was very hard, because of her alcoholic parents and the physical, emotional and sexual abuse from her stepfather. Hilda lived in a world of people who drank, took advantage of her and used her as a sex object. ~~ On these episodes we welcome various co-hosts, survivor-professionals who'll assist in fielding questions and lead a variety of topics suggested by our call-in participants. Their trauma-informed perspectives as survivor-professionals will help them guide discussions on the issues of child abuse, trauma and healthy human sexuality that spring from questions and topics brought to us by our listeners. ~~ Everyone's invited to engage on tonight's show. ~~ Please visit the NAASCA.org web site.
