Tonight's special guest is Lakisha Davis-Small from Washington, D.C., a survivor of child abuse and an activist. Lakisha shares that she was sodomized at 5 years old by a 21 year old relative of her father. Although the predator was caught and punished, Lakisha's dad had a lot of trouble in his life coming to terms with how this difficult to understand situation had happened. She wasn't to be sure to include a discussion on this during the show. Lakisha is the founder of “Stop Stealing Our Souls“ a movement dedicated to exposing the realities of sex exploitation in the community. The mission includes child ography, sex trafficking, incest, sexual crimes against the elderly and all sexual crimes against men and women, both adult and youth. Lakisha's book, 'Your Deliverance is Coming', is a compelling story based her life. As a domestic violence survivor and advocate, her courageous fight for survival is amazing. She was exposed to crime, murder, and hustling the majority of her life. Struggling to overcome the pain and shame of her horrific past, her faith weakened, but Lakisha would always remember the basic spiritual principles she learned from her Dad. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Lakisha has partnered with many organizations, groups and individuals across political and cultural barriers to ensure that she reaches the many people who have no way of giving voice to their pain.
