Tonight's special guest is Dr Anna Baranowsky from Toronto, Executive Director of the Traumatology Institute (Canada) and co-author of the new book "What is PTSD?: 3 Steps for Healing Trauma." Anna will be joined by co-author Teresa Lauer of Redmond, Washington. In addition to the book we'll explore their unique on-line training courses, offered through the Online Traumatology Institute's Clinical Traumatologist training program, where mental health professionals get comprehensive trauma therapy training in an on-line platform (anytime ... anyplace). Designed to help both those who work with trauma survivors and anyone who wants to learn about PTSD, courses are offered over SKYPE. Students quickly and easily develop skills as a trauma responder and counselor. They offer on-line training for: 1) Mental health professionals and counselors with a trauma/PTSD specialization to be completed at your own time and place, 2) Emergency Responders looking for skills in post-trauma care, 3) Teachers or School Administrators finding approaches to handle the aftermath of trauma, 4) Justice System Workers who want to use Trauma-Informed interventions with incarcerated populations, 5) Anyone who encounters trauma survivors in the course of their work or daily lives, and 6) Trauma Survivors, their family, friends, colleagues, co-workers and other connections.
