Amelia Romano began her lessons on a lever harp at the age of 9 with famed Diana Stork, who inspired early compositions and  improvisation. Romano played in a variety of youth ensembles, graduated from the San Francisco School of the Arts High School, performing Laura Zaerr’s “Celtic Concerto,” and released her first solo album, “Seeking Peace,” in her senior year. After her B.A. at US Berkeley, she worked in a township music school outside Cape Town, South Africa, which  deeply shaped her musical creativity She returned to the S.F. Bay Area in 2011, took up the electric harp and helped form a dynamic trio, “StringQuake,”  and never looked back. She has been performing, recording and touring with her unique Latin flair, soulful lyrics and world rhythms for 15 years.  She formed the All That Bad Trio in Fall 2016 and will release her second full length album, “New Perspectives,” featuring the electric harp and local talent, which combines Latin rhythms, blues and nostalgic storytelling to re-imagine the role of the harp in today's musical landscape.
