Welcome to the Gateway to the Redwoods!

The setting tonight is at the Mendocino County Museum and Skunk Train Depot in Willits, CA, and this weekend is all about celebrating the past with a Handcar Race, Beard and Mustache competition, and all the goings-on all at the annual Kinetic Carnivale.

Kinectic Energy is all about motion and the energy that a body possesess because of it. In mathmatical terms, it's equal to the mass of the body times the square of its speed...got it?

Just after the California Gold Rush, and before the San Fransisco Earthquake, transportation was primarily horse, human and a lot of steam. Early Californians were a hardy bunch, and the Kinetic Carnivale, taking place this weekend, brings us a back to a time of Steam Trains, Gold Miners, Handlebar Mustaches, Moonshine and Wild Women!

Alot of this is still recognizable in an area of Northern California called, The Gateway to the Redwoods and all taking place in what is known as the Kinetic Carnival.
