Tonight, we continue with the second half of our replay of the public debate between David Cobb of Move to Amend's National Leadership Team and James Bopp, General Counsel for the James Madison Center for Free Speech and legal advisor to the organization Citizens United. Citizens Divided: Corporate Money, Speech, and Politics was held at Indiana University last September, featuring Cobb and Bopp as they explore the relationship between corporations and political speech following the Supreme Court’s 2010 Citizens United vs. Federal Election Commission ruling. You will listen to questions from a five-person panel and the audience.
We want to thank Indiana University’s Civic Leaders Center, the SPEA Law and Public Policy Program, the Maurer Law School American Constitution Society, and Move to Amend South Central Indiana for organizing and sponsoring this rousing debate between two prominent figures in the national debate over corporate personhood, campaign finance, and the proper definition of political speech!
