Professor Henry H. Bauer is the former Dean of Arts and Sciences at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech) and a recognized authority in the field of Science Studies. Also former Editor in Chief of the Journal of Scientific Exploration, he is the author of many scholarly works on how there are conflicting definitions of what constitutes science, how science interacts with anomalous claims and minority opinions, and how human prejudices and biases can effect the internal politics of science. One of the anomalies he has intensely focused on for over half a century is the controversy about the Loch Ness Monster, which is the main subject of our discussion.
