Today’s show is called “Innovations: Finding Solutions to Guatemala’s Malnutrition Challenge” with our special guest: Edward Fischer, Professor of Anthropology and Director of the Center for Latin American Studies at Vanderbilt University. He is also the founder of the Maní+ malnutrition project in Guatemala.  

 
Edward Fischer has worked in Guatemala for more than 25 years, and he has written or edited several books, including Cultural Logics and Global Economies: Maya Identity in Thought and Practice and Broccoli and Desire: Global Connections and Maya Struggles in Postwar Guatemala.  His popular video series “Peoples and Cultures of the World” was produced by the Teaching Company, and he has been featured on BigThink.com and in articles in the New York Times, Time, Newsweek, and other media outlets.
