Fiddler on the Roof was seen theatretically on Broadway and as a hit movie. Joel Grey is now directing the Yiddish version, here in New York, for the first time. The former location for this show was at the Museum of Jewish Heritage performed by the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene. It becames such a smash hit that it went Off-Broadway to Stage 42.
Jana Robbins is one of the producers of this Off-Broadway hit that so far has been extended to January of 2020. With many names listed as Producers, what is her role and what made her decide to take this job?
She will be talking about the politics of Fiddler as the traditon kept on being broken by Tevye's daughters because marriages were usually arranged by matchmakers and parents in those days.
I also wondered if this was the first time that a female was cast as the Fiddler?
