Big hit now is the Yiddish version of Fiddler on the Roof being perfromed at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in Battery Park. It is doing so well that they will be taking it to an Off-Broadway Theatre in February. Right now it plays at the Museum until December 30. The show is a bit more intimate but doesn't lose anything due to the lack of a huge cast. No roles were cut out and some of the music that is in the movie version is here. Joel Grey is directing the show.
There are translations in English and Russian viewed at the top of each side of the stage.
Adam B. Shapiro, portrays the Rabbi and James Monroe Stevko is one heck of dancer (and has a role as well). We will talk with both of them.
