When people define "Jewish food" they most likely thnk about what is eaten at a kosher deli.  The cuisne actually comes from areas of Europe which became "comfort food" to those that immigrated to the United States. As we celebrate Passover, the delis are closed for the week.  Why?  It takes a lot of work to make a deli or any other kosher restaurant "Kosher for Passover".

After the recitiations and prayers are over, it is time to eat.  What you won't find is any levened bread but matzoh instead.  Typical foods are: gefilte fish (kind of like having fish balls vs meat balls but served cold). chicken soup with matzo balls (that should be more fluffy vs being like hockey pucks), stuffed cabbage (stuffed with chopped beef, rice and raisins with a tomato type sauce), and the best part of the deli, the coldcuts.

Ben's Best, located in Rego Park, Queens, NY is most known for their pastrami.  That doesn't mean less for the brisket, corned beef, or beef tongue.  Jay Parker, owner of Ben's Best will talk with us about the food and tradition.  If you are in the US and crave kosher deli, you can buy these tasty morsels online.
